Alison Doody
Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actress. Doody made her acting debut in the Bond film, A View to a Kill in the year 1985. In 1989 she played an archaeologist with Nazi sympathies Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan Doovan portrayed Charlotte in Taffin in 1988. Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody was first introduced to modeling when she was invited by a professional photographer. This led to an enviable professional career as a model for commercials. Doody was adamantly against fashion, thongs and glamour in her modelling career. If she came to the director's notice for an upcoming James Bond film, Doody accepted a minor role in A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was selected as one of the 12 most promising young actors in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody was still only 18 at the time of her first appearance in the Bond role. As of today Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying (1997) with Mickey Rourke, also featured one of her roles as IRA Siobhan. Doody was a voice actor in the 1987 TV adaptation of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. She played Sapsorrow in the Jim Henson's fantasy show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. In 1988, she played alongside Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film and played the role of her father in the film. Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series based on Hitler Diaries. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokeswoman. She went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his wife and agent as Flannery's girlfriend and agent in Major League II. Doody played a role in the 2002 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine played her in a ceremony in recognition of an award. Doody's roles include a TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust as well as a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody was in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. Then, she appeared in RTE's medical thriller The Clinic. She was also set to be the star of an adaptation in 2011 of the classic horror film The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. The year 2011 saw her debut on the first of two seasons on the E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. In 2014 she starred in We Still Kill the Old Way. Almeria film award, tierra de cine as well as an Almeria walk of fame star were presented on the 21st of November, 2018.
